Marchwood sits between Totton and Hythe on the Southampton Water shoreline, and it has stayed noticeably more village-like than either. The housing is a genuine mix — older village properties around the centre, post-war and later infill, and newer development towards the water — which means there's no single Marchwood quote. Every street here is a bit different.
Marchwood gets a lighter version of Hythe's salt exposure on its water-facing side, while properties set back inland behave much more like Totton. The mix of building ages is the practical issue: older village properties often have timber frames and smaller panes that need more care and more time than a modern UPVC unit, while newer estate housing towards the shore is quick and straightforward. We quote Marchwood street by street rather than off a standard rate, because a rate that's fair on one road is wrong on the next.
